For the last 4 years, Mr. Shughart has led consulting engagements on railway feasibility studies, railway revitalization, asset utilization, service scheduling, performance improvement, operations management, strategic analyses, due diligence, and opportunities assessments. He has worked on railroad projects in over 20 different countries during his 25 year career in the transportation industry. Prior to joining WorleyParsons, Shughart was Vice President of Innovative Scheduling, where he led the consulting practice and assisted in the development and implementation of sophisticated optimization and simulation models for the rail industry. Shughart was a Principal at CRA International in Boston where he was engaged by industry, governments and law firms. Shughart worked for 14 years at CSX Corporation in economic analysis, intermodal planning, performance improvement, locomotive operations, strategy, service design, finance, operations research, and engineering. His academic experience includes membership on the Engineering Department Advisory Board at the University of Florida and research support for the M.I.T. Center for Transportation Studies. He also served as a Professor of Economics at the University of North Florida and has guest lectured at other universities. M.S. Transportation MIT
