Prior to his current role in Operations, Elium served as Group Vice President, Automotive Marketing & Sales and Assistant Vice President, Customer Service, both in the Marketing Division. He previously was the company's Assistant General Manager, Crew Management. In these roles, he had responsibility for customer logistics overseeing industrial products and train unit shipments as well as automotive commercial responsibilities for finished vehicles and automotive part shipments.
Elium has also held roles in Labor Relations, and Human Resources. He joined Norfolk Southern as a Management Trainee in 2012. He serves on the boards of Conrail, Belt Railway of Chicago, and Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad.
Elium earned a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.
